Gwen ​Henderson


     Gwen Henderson ,a native of New York, began singing church solos at the age of two. Being the daughter of a pastor, she was exposed to leadership at an early age, and by eleven was an employed musician and a songwriter of note for many local community choirs and churches . Gwen credits her high school music teachers, Mrs. Grace Bowles and Ms. Dovetta Beamon for her foundation in Classical Music and Music Theory. Mrs. Bowles acknowledged that it was Gwen’s extraordinary talent which led the Gospel Choir to be the Black Music Caucus National champions in New York City.


      Gwen , in addition to her musical aspirations, had been following her spiritual calling. She served as Worship Leader for The Lord’s Church with Bishop Eric McDaniel in the Bronx, New York. She served in this capacity at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church with the late Bishop Eddie L. Long and Pastor Darius Nixon in Queens, New York. Gwen relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 to advance both her music career and her ministry. She served as Worship Leader for Bishop Clarence E. McClendon and Apostle B. Dwayne Hardin at The Embassy, both in Atlanta.

     Gwen has since performed in the Wilson Pickett Production directed by Kenneth Green and in BET’s “The Game.” She has been blessed to perform with Ann Nesby and Broadway Legend Jennifer Holliday. Ms. Henderson has toured Germany, and many other European countries singing with major Gospel artists like the great Marvin Sapp. Gwen is currently a professional background vocalist , performing with, among others, Live Recordings with Kim Burrell, Geoffrey Golden, Smokie Norful, Maranda Curtis and Kelontae Gavin. Gwen has shared the stage with a plethora of artists in live performances. Among these are Bri Babbineaux, Kirk Franklin, Deon Kipping,Vashawn Mitchell, Anita Wilson and Y’anna Crawley.

     As a vocal coach, Gwen’s clientele is both national and international. She has made several appearances with corporate groups on major networks such as BET, TBN, Bravo and The Word. As a member of the Atlanta Super Choir performing at The Grand Opening of Porsche North America; The It Choir of Atlanta performing at The I Dream of NeNe Wedding and in the upcoming movie THE HATE YOU GIVE, Gwen is moving in new directions and is taking advantage of the great opportunities being afforded her.

     Acting has become a priority for Gwen in the past six years. This multi-talented woman has been gracefully developing her acting skills in television. She can be seen in the OWN Network Megachurch drama series “Greenleaf”;BET’s The Quad; Bounce TV’s “Saints & Sinners and Rick Ross’ s VH1 Reality Talent Competition , “Signed.”

It is Ms. Henderson’s goal to grow as an actor in film and theater in the near future.
